Juclà Refuge is located in the parish of Canillo, next to Lake Juclà (the largest lake in Andorra) at the end of Incles Valley. It lies at an altitude of 2,310 metres, and has capacity for up to 43 people. The mountain shelter is staffed during the summer season, specifically from mid-June to mid-September, and it can be accessed with advance booking. Even so, when it’s closed, an adjoining part of the shelter is set up where up to 6 hikers can sleep.

Since its opening in 1990, the mountain staffed shelter offers a comfortable stay for guests with everything they need: restaurant, bar, cafeteria, telephones, emergency radio, fireplace, 2 cooking areas and even a water spring outside. As for the rooms, they’re equipped with bunk beds, mattresses and blankets. There are also 2 showers and 2 toilets. Pets are also welcome.

The mountain staffed shelter is included in a Long Distance Trail (GR) and is accessible by car via an asphalted road that climbs through Incles Valley, between the villages of Soldeu and Tarter. Between July and September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., vehicles are not allowed to pass through, although there is an electric train that crosses the Valley at a price of 3 euros per person.

Once in the parking lot at Baladosa Bridge (1,835 metres), at the end of the Valley, you’ll have to continue on foot to the shelter. From here, it’s a one-and-a-half-hour walk. Follow the signs to Juclà. Before you get there, you’ll find a recreational area where you can fill your canteen. Don't miss out!
